  • Your College ID Card: A clear, well-lit, and readable picture of your current student ID.
  • Alternative Documentation (Optional): A recent fee receipt, course schedule, or official transcript showing your name, college name, and current date/academic year (useful if your ID card is unclear or lacks a date).
  • Government ID: A clear picture of your PAN card, Aadhaar card, or other official government-issued ID.

Step-by-Step Verification Instructions

  1. Visit the Figma Education Page: Navigate to figma.com/education in your web browser.
  2. Click "Get Verified": Find and click the "Get verified" button. You will be prompted to log into your Figma account if you haven't already.
  3. Select Your Status: Choose "Student" from the list of options indicating how you use Figma.
  4. Enter Your Institution Details:
    • Type in the full name of your college or university. If your exact college name doesn't appear in the dropdown list, you can usually add it manually.
    • Select your primary field of study.
    • Provide your expected graduation month and year.

Getting verified in India can sometimes trigger automated rejections due to how names or dates are printed on regional ID cards. Keep these crucial tips in mind:

  • The "Initials" Workaround: Many Indian college ID cards only print the student's initials alongside their surname (e.g., "M. S. Dhoni" instead of "Mahendra Singh Dhoni"). If your Figma account uses your full expanded name, the automated verification system will likely reject your application due to a name mismatch.
    • The Fix: If your college ID only has initials, take a picture of your college ID side-by-side with a valid Government ID (like your PAN Card or Aadhaar Card) that shows your full expanded name, photo, and date of birth. Upload this combined image as your proof of enrollment. This bridges the gap and proves that the initials on the college ID belong to your full legal name.
  • Exact Name Matching: Ensure the name you enter in the Figma verification form exactly matches the name as it appears on the documents you are uploading.
  • Document Clarity: The automated system reads the text on your ID. Make sure the photos are extremely well-lit, completely in focus (not blurry), and have no glare blocking important text. Do not crop out the edges of the ID cards.
